[unpaid/affiliate/prioradrelationship] I test a lot of foundations and over the years my taste has changed from a full coverage look to lighter and more dewy. I worked on a True Match campaign a few years ago and still to this day use and recommend it often. It’s easily on a par with more spendy bases and 4N is indeed a ‘true match’ for my skin tone.

I was keen to try the newest iteration of True Match – the Nude Plumping Tinted Serum because of my love for the original.  It contains 1% hyaluronic acid so it’s an ideal mix of make up and skin care. As you’d expect the serum is helpful in making the formula easily blendable – bearing in mind the first True Match was serum infused and contained hyaluronic which is what gives it its wonderful glide and finish, the main difference seems to be that it’s switched focus to be tinted skin care rather than be skin care enriched make up. It’s available in 9 shades so far which is a small amount in comparison to True Match original which has 40 but I expect there will be more.

With only 9 shades, I wasn’t able to get such an exact match as N4 but the one I have is 2-3 Light (I expected to be 3-4 Medium – if my tone was as warm as it usually is in summer then it would be my first choice) which is very close and easily wearable. The finish is not only lighter, but less glowy I think than the foundation, but it’s not a matte finish – your natural light bounce will show through. I mean, I love it, because I love both True Match and hyaluronic acid so the combination really works for me as day to day coverage. I’m sure it won’t be marketed this way but I think it’s an ideal product for older skins that like both a lighter touch base wise and hyaluronic comfort and hydration.
