Hatebreed has been added to the “Metal Tour of the Year” featuring Megadeth, Lamb of God and Trivium

The “Metal Tour of the Year” is scheduled to kick off in late August, but when it does, the trek will look a bit different. Hardcore metal act Hatebreed has been added in leu of In Flames on the run, which also features co-headliners Megadeth and Lamb of God, plus Trivium.

In Flames were forced to step back from the tour due to international visa issues. Taking their place is Jamey Jasta and the guys of Hatebreed, who released their latest album, “Weight of the False Self,” last year.

Regarding the upcoming trek, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine stated, “Can you hear that sound of armies on the march — of destruction on the horizon? That’s this tour, coming for you. We cannot wait to return to the stage and I promise you you do NOT want to miss these shows. You’re not going to know what hit you!”

In Flames took to Instagram to explain their departure from the tour, stating, “In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we had to make the difficult decision to not join the ‘Metal Tour of The Year.’ We were looking forward to playing for you all and this was an unbelievably hard choice to make. Thank you for understanding and your support as we all get through this unprecedented time. We have a lot of things in the works for 2022 – more on that shortly. Stay safe & we’ll see you on the road again soon!”

Hatebreed guitarist Wayne Lozinak recently spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the band’s latest album, “Weight of the False Self.” As for the sound on the album, he stated, “We try not to stray from the original formula, I guess you could say, too much. I think it still has the same basic Hatebreed style that everyone knows. But, I think, we tried to get a little heavier with even the guitar tone. Working with Zeus, our producer, and everything, we did a slightly different and even, maybe, a little more technical, not too crazy, but a little more technical playing and some more solos on this album. I think it came out great.”
