According to a report investigators say Instagram photos featuring Pooh Shiesty with “several long rifles and plethora of $100.00 bills” led to the indictment.
Pooh Shiesty has been indicted over the alleged shooting and robbery of two men during an October incident in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. According to the Miami Herald, the rapper is now in federal custody and won’t be released until a detention hearing on July 6.
Investigators say Instagram photos featuring Shiesty with “several long rifles and plethora of $100.00 bills” led to the indictment. The report notes one of the bills inside of a Louis Vuitton bag that fell out of a lime green Mclaren had the same serial number as the one shown on Instagram. On his personal Instagram account, he’d previously shared images of himself with this same vehicle.
Saam Zangeneh, the rapper’s attorney shared the following statement earlier this month and has maintained his innocence:
“We have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and we believe they have a federal detainer on him and are likely to file federal charges. That doesn’t change our position as to his 100 percent innocence, in both state and federal matters.”
The federal case names Shiesty and two of his friends, Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa. Per the criminal complaint, in October, the trio arranged to buy marijuana and “high-end athletic sneakers” outside of the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands. Shiesty arrived in a rented Mclaren, while Darosa pulled up in a Mercedes Maybach.
The three friends drove away and didn’t pay for any of the items they’d arranged to purchase. During the deal, Shiesty and Brown shot the two men. The robbery was captured on camera, according to the criminal complaint by Miami-Dade Detective Elio Garcia, who is part of an FBI violent crimes task force. Social media assisted with building this case.
That same month Shiesty turned himself in and was charged with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon doing great bodily harm, aggravated assault with a firearm, and theft. He was released on $30,000 bond. In addition to the above charges, he’s been charged with discharging a firearm during a violent crime, conspiracy, and robbery under a law regulating commerce, per Complex.
As a signee of Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, it appears Pooh Shiesty is becoming a liability. Just last month, he was also charged with aggravated battery in a strip club shooting that took place at Miami’s King of Diamonds. The victim allegedly recanted his statement, at the moment prosecutors are investigating what prompted him to do so. On a lighter note, he was recently named in XXL‘s 2021 Freshman class.
