Limp Bizkit are pulling out of their remaining 2021 dates but have new music on the way

Limp Bizkit is all the rage again, thanks to the band’s recent, high-profile set at Lollapalooza 2021, which featured frontman Fred Durst toting his new “Dad Vibes” look. The band was also slated to headline a North American tour this summer but pulled off the trek due to the ongoing pandemic.

Now, Limp Bizkit are pulling out of the rest of their 2021 live dates. Good news follows, though, as the band has announced that their long-awaited new album will drop “very soon.” The upcoming set will mark Limp Bizkit’s follow-up to 2011’s “Gold Cobra.”

The band took to Instagram to share the news today (Aug. 25), stating, “To be more clear, as some promoters are a bit behind on keeping you updated, all of our scheduled performances were canceled weeks ago (yes, we are all fine, thank you),” they posted on their Instagram story.

The band added, “New songs will begin to leak, one after the other in rapid succession, very soon. Soon thereafter our new album will be released.”

Earlier this month, Limp Bizkit gave a statement to Billboard explaining why the band was canceling shows. In the message, Durst stated, “In short, the system is still very flawed. Even if the performers, crews, staff, and promoters do their best to ensure safety on and behind the stage, that doesn’t ensure the safety of the audience as a whole. We are all in this together, and we all — individually and as a whole — have to make our best efforts to be as responsible and proactive as possible moving forward to combat and stop spreading COVID.”

Durst added, “It’s one for all and all for one, or it’s just not going to work. I’m willing to do my part. Are you?”

A collection of rock and metal acts have been forced to cancel tour dates due to someone in their camp being diagnosed with COVID-19, including Korn, Mammoth WVH, Tesla and Corey Taylor, to name a few.
