The Matrix Resurrections will be hitting theaters and HBO Max in December.

The first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections is coming this week. And on Tuesday, Warner Bros. hinted at what we can expect. They launched an interactive website that displays the first footage of the upcoming movie. In the website, we get the first look at Keanu Reeves, who is playing the savior Neo again, who now has a John Wick-beard and long hair combo.

The interactive website, which is called WhatistheMatrix (which you can check out right here) is really cool. You start by picking either a red pill or a bill one. (Of course, if you’re a fan of the movie you know that the red pill is the road to freedom while the blue pill is a path full of ignorance and comfort. In later years, the pill stuff would become much more problematic.)

According to Entertainment Weekly, there are more than 180,000 variations of the footage featured on the site. Depending on the time of day and which pill you choose you’ll see new footage from the upcoming movie. So you can really just be there all day.

The Matrix Resurrections is the fourth series in the franchise and the first since the derided Matrix Revolutions in 2003. This movie will be directed by Lana Wachowski — the first three were directed by her and her sister Lilly — and will feature Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith revisiting their roles. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, and more were also added to the cast. Lawrence Fishburne, who famously played Morpheus, will not be returning; Fishburne said he was not asked to return

Matrix Resurrections will hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021. The first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections is dropping on Thursday morning, at 9 AM EST.
