After spending the start of their careers performing in and attending gigs at independent venues up and down the country, The Sherlocks have decided it is their turn to give back. October 2021 will see the band embark on a 15-date tour across independent venues, aiming to support these cherished spaces through their challenging times. The news follows on from the band’s recently released single End Of The Earth, their first new music since their 2019 debut album Under Your Sky.
Speaking about the tour, lead singer Kiaran Crook states
We’ve had so many amazing memories at independent venues. One that stands out is our first ever headline gig in Manchester at Kraak Gallery. It holds about 100 people, it feels like a phone box in there! There were people jumping on the stage, crowd surfing to the back of the room and beer flying everywhere! We as a band have aimed to bring that level of energy to every show since.
The tour is in partnership with Independent Venue Week, who support and preserve grassroots venues around the country and hold an annual 7-day celebration of venues by holding a variety of gigs & events to help raise the awareness for these spaces.
The tour starts in Blackburn on October 1st, followed by shows in iconic venues in Manchester, Tunbridge Wells, Grimsby, Sunderland and many more. Each show’s support acts will come from local, emerging talent with the band taking recommendations over on their social media. Tickets are available here* from Friday June 18th 9am.
