Tonstartssbandht Announce New Album, ‘Petunia’ and Share New Single, ‘What Has Happened’

Brother duo, Tonstartssbandht, have today announced their new album, Petunia, set to be released on October 22nd via Mexican Summer. The two-piece have also shared the first single from the album, coming at us in the shape of What Has Happened.

What Has Happened sees Tonstartssbandht discuss the struggles of waiting in the in-between, wondering about the uncertainty of what happens on the other side. Subtly influenced by Talk Talk and featuring fuzzy guitars that are reminiscent of sonar, the track sees Tonstartssbandht excel. The accompanying music video showcases the natural beauty found in the duo’s hometown, featuring them walking through Orlando’s waterfront parks.

Their 18th album, Petunia, was recorded largely in Orlando throughout 2020. Where listeners may be slightly familiar with some of the tracks, as their rough versions have already been played live, they are yet to be brought to life in their final form on stage.

Rich in detail, brighter and punchier than its predecessor, Petunia builds its own landscape that is begging to be explored. Each track constantly evolves into places not yet explored, leaving its mark on the listener and introducing them to a new side to Tonstartssbandht.
