Track Premiere: Alcopops — “SIN”

Posted: 25th August, 2021 by The Editor

Last year, Portland rockers Alcopops released their debut album Simulator, a very good collection of songs ranging from fuzzy shoegaze to saccharine power-pop. Now operating as a three piece, the band are returning this fall with a new EP called Devil, and today we’re bringing you the first taste of their upcoming project with the band’s wildly catchy new single “SIN”. On “SIN,” the band pushes forward with a much clearer and more direct sound, without sacrificing any of the things that made Simulator so great in the first place. You can still hear the influence of Creation Records acts like Teenage Fanclub and Ride on “SIN,” only now those comparisons sort of fade to the background with the songwriting of Leland Brehl firmly planted front and center on this new tune.
