From August 6 – 8, BBC Radio 1 will broadcast 70 hours of the world’s premier electronic music for a Dance Weekend takeover to take place in lieu of the station’s annual Big Weekend, broadcast live from Ibiza. The Dance Weekend takeover, spanning Radio 1, Radio 1 Dance, and Radio 1 Relax, will feature a range of mixes.
August 5, defined by an “Around The World” theme, will welcome an assembly of world-class acts such as Swedish House Mafia, MK, Ewan McVicar, Shermanology, Krystal Klear, Hannah Wants, Vintage Culture, THEMBA, Nina Kraviz, and Andrea Oliva, as well as an exclusive Essential Mix premiere from Paul Woolford and Yousef. Saturday’s Radio 1 and 1Xtra Rave Up lineup will feature guest mixes from Wilkinson with MC Adapt, Emerald, Black Coffee, DJ EZ, Shadow Child, and an exclusive Essential Mix from Carl Cox. Sunday’s Chilled Dance is set to wrap up with Koreless, a Café Del Mar Mix from Ken Fan, and a Chill Mix from one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2021, TSHA.
Fans can tune in to the Dance Weekend takeover through BBC Sounds and the BBC iPlayer Radio app.
