The rapper and producer has just released his seventh album, Call Me If You Get Lost. The album, which is lead by its booming lead single, “LUMBERJACK.” features appearances from a wide spectrum of guests: Pharrell, NBA Youngboy, Lil Wayne, 42 Dugg, Domo Genesis, Lil Uzi Vert, and more contribute. Special shout out needs to go to DJ Drama who makes appearances throughout the album, making Call Me If You Get Lost feel like an unofficial Gangsta Grillz tape.
And keeping in the spirt of a Gangsta Grillz tape, Tyle returns to his early rapping roots, leaving behind some of the pop music turns he’s made over the last couple of years. (The 2022 Grammy speech should be interesting.)
Call Me If You Get Lost, of course, has a fresh batch of merch from the artist, including several CD and cassette box sets with posters and tees, that you can order copies here.
Call Me If You Get Lost is the follow-up to Tyler, the Creator’s critically (and institutionally) praised 2019 album, IGOR. That album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart and went on to top albums from Dreamville, Cordae, 21 Savage, and Meek Mill, to secure the award for Best Rap Album (the first of his career) at the 62nd annual Grammys. Tyler had previously been nominated for Best Rap Album in 2017 for Flower Boy and in 2012 for Album of The Year for his contribution to Frank Ocean’s debut album, Channel Orange, but neither project ended up taking home the award for their respective categories.
